Did you know that lavender is not just for body lotion and potpourri? Well, now you do! You can not only use it for wonderful smells, you can eat it and drink it!
Today’s post is going to be super simple. What you will end up with is a refreshing drink for those hot days! Depending on which lavender you have, it will either turn pink or purple. Just be sure you use food grade lavender, else you will have a mouth full of yuck.
- 1/4 cup food grade lavender
- 2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 1/2 -2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- extra cold water
In a saucepan, bring the 2 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the sugar and dissolve. Add the lavender and take off the heat. Steep for 20 minutes. In a jug or gallon container, strain the lavender water. Add the lemon juice. Top off with cold water. Give it a good shake/stir to make sure everything is incorporated. That’s it! Tastes like summer!
