Mangoes are considered the King of Fruits. In India, it is the national fruit. Not surprising, considering there are over 1,000 varieties of mangoes in India alone.
Today’s mango recipe is for Mango Lassi. It is one of the most popular drinks, and for good reasons. It has the sweetness of the mango, with the tartness of yogurt. Perfect for a quick cool down after a long day. It is so simple to make, you will no longer have to resort to only having a lassi at your favorite Indian restaurant.
- 1 mango, chopped
- 2 tbsp sugar (optional)
- 2- 3 heaping tsp of Greenyogurt
- 1 tbsp milk (optional)
Peel the skin from the mango. Get as much flesh as you can off of the seed, and chop into pieces. Add to a blender or you can use a hand blender. Add the sugar and puree to a pulp. Add the yogurt and puree. Add the milk and puree. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
*I added sugar because the mangoes we get in the US are just not as sweet as the ones in India
*I also added milk because my yogurt was a little on the sour side
